AIRVAC’s vacuum sewer system expertise has enabled us to build a large customer base, develop an extensive network of contacts in municipalities across the country, and create a brand that is synonymous with quality. This expertise also led to our industry’s two top organizations, the EPA and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) featuring the “AIRVAC way” as the industry standard in their technical manuals about alternative sewer systems.
The EPA manual (Alternative Wastewater Collection Systems
EPA/625/1-91/024) was published in 1990 and was regarded as
the vacuum sewer standard until 2008 when the WEF manual was
published.
The WEF manual (Alternative Sewer Systems,
Manual of Practice FD-12, 2nd ed) contains the most current
information regarding vacuum sewers. It used the content from
the EPA manual as its basis with updates and improvement in
the technology since 1990 reflected. This manual is now used
as the industry standard for vacuum sewers.
